Arrow Electronics' Chairman and CEO Presented With Lifetime Achievement Award.

The electronics distribution industry's longest standing CEO, Stephen P. Kaufman, has been presented with the Entrepreneur of the Year Lifetime Achievement Award. Kaufman, who is also Chairman of Arrow Electronics (NYSE: ARW), received the honor from Ernst & Young, at their eleventh annual Entrepreneur of the Year Salute ceremony on Long Island, New York.

Over the past 18 years, Kaufman has played an integral role in guiding Arrow from a $500 million company to the world's largest distributor of electronic components and computer products with 1999 sales of $9.3 billion. Worldwide employment has grown from 1,600 to 11,000 and on Long Island, employment has grown from 400 to 1,200. The company is ranked number 187 on the Fortune 500 list detailing the largest public corporations in America. The magazine also named Arrow among the most admired corporations in America, and one of the 100 best companies to work for.
