Kyle Ebersole of Lower Paxton Township township: see town.  in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania Dauphin County is a county located in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania and is one of the four counties comprising the greater Harrisburg metropolitan area. As of 2004, the population was estimated at 253,282. , was leaving his parents' home on the evening of October 9 when he spotted a stranger inside his car. As Ebersole ran toward the vehicle, the man jumped out and fled. After a short chase, Ebersole caught up with the man, Michael Craven CRAVEN. A word of obloquy, which in trials by battle, was pronounced by the vanquished; upon which judgment was rendered against him. , dragged him to the ground, and held him until police arrived to take him into custody. Craven was jailed on $10,000 bail.

Making clear that the police "don't encourage people to get involved in these type of things," a representative of the Lower Paxton Township Police Department acknowledged that the "police always need help," and in this instance "Mr. Ebersole was a fine addition to the police force for us."

Reporting the incident the next day, Harrisburg television station WHTM-TV recalled that it was not Ebersole's first citizen's arrest cit·i·zen's arrest
