Arrest over rail tragedy.


A RAIL worker has been arrested over the Cumbria train crash in which a woman died and her daughter, from Southport, was seriously injured in·jure

Margaret Langley, 61, from Crossens, lost her mother, Margaret Masson, 84, after the crash in which a Virgin train derailed and slid into a field in February.

Yesterday British Transport Police The British Transport Police (BTP) is a special police force[1] empowered to police those railways and light-rail systems in Great Britain for which it has entered into an agreement to provide such services.  said a 46-year-old Network Rail employee has been arrested and released on police bail.

The train, with 120 passengers, was travelling at 95mph from London to Glasgowon February 23.
