Arrest after school blaze.

 in a former first school have arrested a teenager.

A 17-year-old from the Ponte land area was arrested last night on suspicion of starting the blaze at the old Ponte land County First School.

After he was questioned about the fire, the youth was released on bail.

The blaze broke out in the school's main hall at around 5.40pm on Friday, March 21, and left the building smoke-logged.

Fire crews from Ponte land and Cramlington were called out to the old school.
