Arrest after man knifed in stomach; VIOLENCE.Byline: By JOHN FALLON John Fallon (born Cambuslang, 1940) was a goalkeeper for Celtic F.C., who was a member of the famous Lisbon Lions of 1967. Fallon was taken on as a junior by Celtic, and soon was promoted to cover for the famous eccentric keeper Frank Haffey. A MAN was recovering in hospital yesterday after he was stabbed in the stomach. The incident happened shortly after 7am on the Claremont Park estate in West Galway. A 32-year-old man, who was arrested in the Westside area of the city, was last night being questioned by gardai in Mill Street station. A spokesman for University College Hospital last night said the injured in·jure tr.v. in·jured, in·jur·ing, in·jures 1. To cause physical harm to; hurt. 2. To cause damage to; impair. 3. man's condition had improved and he was "stable" having earlier being described as "critical". It is understood he suffered a knife wound to the abdomen and that he may have staggered from a house after being attacked. |
