January 20--The New York Building Congress hosts a Construction Industry Luncheon Forum with Columbia University Columbia University, mainly in New York City; founded 1754 as King's College by grant of King George II; first college in New York City, fifth oldest in the United States; one of the eight Ivy League institutions.  President Lee C. Bollinger, who will discuss Columbia's proposed long-range development plans for the Manhattanville area in West Harlem. Registration and reception begin at 11:30AM, followed by luncheon and program at 12:30 pm, at Mandarin Oriental New York, Mandarin Ballroom, 80 Columbus Circle Columbus Circle, named for Christopher Columbus, is a major landmark and point of attraction in the New York City borough of Manhattan.
