Annual Market Makers Breakfast Symposium

 Luncheon

May 25 -- Omar Friella, founder and director of the Green Worker Cooperatives, will address the Associated Builders and Owners of Greater New York, Inc. (ABO) at its May 25 luncheon at The National Arts Club The National Arts Club is a private club founded in 1898 to "stimulate, foster, and promote public interest in the arts and to educate the American people in the fine arts". Since 1906 the organization has occupied the Samuel J. , 15 Gramercy Park South (at East 20th Street) at noon.

Friella will discuss the cooperative's efforts to salvage reusable materials from trash and demolition waste in New York's South Bronx, creating a neighborhood that is both environmentally and economically healthy. Friella will also address his vision for creating hundreds of jobs through the establishment of local environmentally-friendly manufacturing businesses.

The May 25 luncheon is open to ABO members at a cost of $65 per person and non-members at $80 per person. Reservations should be made by calling 212.385.4949.

Appraisal Course

May 26 -- The Columbia Society of Real Estate Appraisers, Inc. is hosting a seven-hour National USPAP USPAP Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice  Update course at the Holiday Inn in Ronkonkoma, N.Y.

The seven-hour USPAP course is a required course for all licensed/certified New York State real estate appraisers renewing their licenses. Course will give attendees seven hours continuing education credit for appraisers and 6.25 hours continuing education credit for real estate. For additional information call 631-732-6200.
