A new family of aromatic thermoplastic A polymer material that turns to liquid when heated and becomes solid when cooled. There are more than 40 types of thermoplastics, including acrylic, polypropylene, polycarbonate and polyethylene.  urethane urethane (yoor´ithān´),
n ethyl carbamate used as an anesthetic agent for laboratory animals, formerly used as a hypnotic in humans.
 (TPU TPU - Text Processing Utility ) materials impart high clarity to sports products and footware. The new Desmopan aromatic TPUs from Bayer Corp., Pittsburgh, are said to offer excellent abrasion abrasion /abra·sion/ (ah-bra´zhun)

 and tear resistance properties and to retain good clarity even in thick sections.
