Arnold Industries Appoints New President of Truckload Operations.


LEBANON, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 23, 1998--Arnold Industries, Inc. (NASDAQ:AIND) has named Michael S. Walters president and CEO of Arnold Transportation Services Inc., its truckload subsidiary.

Walters' truckload industry experience spans more than 20 years and includes responsibilities in operations, sales and finance. Walters has held senior management positions with responsibility for operations and sales with two large truckload carriers. He served most recently as vice president of operations for U.S. Xpress, a nationwide carrier with 1997 revenues of $433.8 million.

Walters will be based at the Arnold Transportation operations headquarters in Jacksonville, Fla.

Arnold Transportation Services was created in 1997 through the merger of three former Arnold Industries subsidiaries including LebArnold of Camp Hill, Penn., SilverEagle Transport of Jacksonville, and Dalworth Trucking of Grand Prairie, Texas. The total operating revenues of Arnold Transportation Services were $180 million in 1997.
