Arnco and Alshin Tire have formed Carefree Tire Co., a joint venture to market wheelchair and bicycle tires worldwide. Alshin Tire manufactures the flatproof polyurethane tires using a proprietary process and designs covered by Arnco patents. Alshin Tire manufactures 40,000-50,000 tires per month at Rancho Cucamonga, CA, and plans to double capacity by this summer to more than 100,000 tires per month. Arnco, based in South Gate, CA, manufactures tire flatproofing polymers and a line of urethane elastomers.
