The procurement department within an organization manages all the major purchases. and Acquisition Policy e-Business (Electronic-BUSINESS) Doing business online. The term is often used synonymously with e-commerce, but e-business is more of an umbrella term for having a presence on the Web. Conference will be held May 23-26, 2005, at the Rosen Centre in Orlando, Fla. Strategic acquisition through electronic systems is the future, and e-Business is leading the journey to achieve this ideal. Hosted by the Office of Defense Procurement and Acquisition Policy, e-Business (DPAP DPAP Defense Procurement and Acquisition Policy , EB), the e-Business Conference will focus on the approaches, strategies, and initiatives that will make this environment a reality. The conference will cover: * Enterprise Architecture -- a movement away from application silos * Portfolio Management -- an assessment of technical and functional capabilities supporting strategic acquisition * Transition Planning -- a plan to transform the acquisition domain from what is to what should be * Governance Governance makes decisions that define expectations, grant power, or verify performance. It consists either of a separate process or of a specific part of management or leadership processes.
