Army deploys Trend Micro solutions to protect from viruses and spam.

Trend Micro Inc. (Nasdaq:TMIC) (TSE: 4704) has announced that the US Army Chief Technology Office (CTO) is using Trend Micro InterScan Virus Wall, Trend Micro eManager, and ServerProtect for EMC Celerra as Internet gateway and server protection for its more than 1.1 million customers, helping to protect them from viruses, malicious content and spam.

The Chief Technology Office wanted a market leading, scalable, reliable product that worked in a dynamic application and server environment. After looking at several antivirus software tools for protecting emails and documents, engineers eventually chose Trend Micro. To date, Trend Micro solutions have kept viruses out and helped maintain network integrity. "Timely delivery of virus definitions insured that we stopped key viruses like `ILOVEYOU' before they got into the system," claims the CTO.

The US Army Chief Technology Office uses Trend Micro InterScan Virus Wall for high-performance real-time Internet gateway protection against viruses and malicious code in SMTP, HTTP and FTP traffic. Trend Micro eManager adds spam blocking, content filtering, attachment blocking and email scheduling to optimize bandwidth. Trend Micro ServerProtect for EMC Celerra provides centralized virus scanning, pattern updates, and event reporting in a comprehensive solution for data storage using Celerra file servers.
