Army commanders' conference to review operational preparedness.

Chief of the Army Staff General Deepak Kapoor General Deepak Kapoor is the Chief of Army Staff of India. He is the 23rd Chief of Staff of the Indian Army.

General Kapoor took over the reins of the world's second largest fighting force on September 30,2007 at noon from General Joginder Jaswant Singh and declared that
 will chair the four-day conference.

 to military strategy, operational logistics and matters impacting the welfare and enhancement of satisfaction level amongst all ranks.

Some of the new concepts in the operational as well as administrative levels evolved in the recent past, as also those in the formative stage will be discussed.

The conference will also deliberate on the security situation prevalent in the country and neighbouring countries.

The issues having direct impact on the welfare of troops to include physical and mental well-being will also be discussed.

Some other issues to be discussed are travel entitlements of troops, utilisation of military land, and other administrative procedural issue requiring modification.

The conference will also review the existing policies on Army Group Insurance Scheme and Army Welfare Education Society.

The Chief of Army Staff's Flight Safety Trophy for the best Army Aviation Squadron will also be presented during the conference.
