Army chief adds new title to his honours.


One of Wales' most eminent Army men led a list of soldiers in the New Year's Honours List Noun 1. honours list - a list issued by examiners that categorizes students according to the class of honours they achieved in their degree examinations

General Sir Redmond "Reddy" Watt, formerly the Commanding Officer of the Welsh Guards and the current Commander in Chief of British land forces, added the title Knight Commander of the Order of Bath to his many honours.

Also recognised in the list were several other Welsh soldiers, including Major General Jonathon Riley, lately of the Royal Welch Fusiliers The Royal Welch Fusiliers were a regiment of the British Army, part of the Prince of Wales' Division. It was founded in 1689 to oppose James II and the imminent war with France. , and Warrant Officer class I Paul Rodger Jones of the Welsh Guards.
