Army Chief of Staff General George W. Casey, Jr. to Discuss His Plans to Meet the Army's Manpower and Equipment Needs in Iraq and Afghanistan and Its Responsibilities in the U.S. and Around the World.


WASHINGTON -- General George W. Casey, Jr. -- 36th Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army -- will address a National Press Club luncheon on August 14, 2007 where he will outline his plans for ensuring the Army can balance current operations in Iraq and Afghanistan with ongoing efforts to ensure the nation has the resources it requires for the future.

General George W. Casey, Jr. became the 36th Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army on 10 April 2007. Previously he was the Commander, Multi-National Force - Iraq, a coalition of more than 30 countries, from July 2004 until February 2007.

The National Press Club luncheon will begin promptly at 12:30 p.m. and General Casey's remarks will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by a question and answer session.
