Armstrong's message for Hartson; SPORTBRIEF.


JOHN HARTSON John Hartson (born April 5, 1975, in Swansea, Wales) is a professional footballer,currently playing for Norwich City on loan from West Bromwich Albion. He is in the mould of a traditional centre forward and "target man".  has been given the full backing of Tour de France legend Lance Armstrong Lance Armstrong (born Lance Edward Gunderson on September 18, 1971) is a retired American professional road racing cyclist. He won the Tour de France—cycling's most prestigious race—seven consecutive times, from 1999 to 2005.  as the former Wales striker faces up to his fight against cancer.

Hartson, 34, has been told he must prepare for a long battle against the disease having been diagnosed with testicular testicular /tes·tic·u·lar/ (tes-tik´u-lar) pertaining to a testis.

But the ex-West Ham, Arsenal and Celtic star has received support from the sporting world.

And that includes US cycling great and cancer survivor Armstrong, who took time out from his Tour schedule to tell Hartson: "We''re all thinking about you, John."

In the Tour, Britain's Mark Cavendish took his third stage win this race to reclaim the green jersey.

There was no change at the top to leave Italian Rinaldo Nocentini in possession of the yellow jersey.
