Armed robbery terror at building society.A SECURITY guard had a gun thrust in her face as she was delivering cash to a branch of Coventry Building Society The Coventry Building Society is a building society based in Coventry, England. It is the 5th largest in the United Kingdom based on total assets of £12.3 billion at 31 December 2006. . The woman, in her 40s, was making a delivery to the branch in Barkers Butts Lane, Coundon, at around 10.30am yesterday when the robbers struck. They grabbed two cash boxes containing a "substantial" amount. Det Con Rich Martin said the pair then sped off in a stolen gold-colour Peugeot 206 car, heading off towards Coundon. They parked in nearby Pake's Croft, where they tried to open the boxes, and are believed to have activated the security dye inside. It is not known where they went next. The getaway car, registration number KX52 DUU, is still missing. It was one of four stolen during a break-in at the Humber Road Peugeot plant on January 4. Two others, a blue Peugeot 206 Gti, registration number KP02 WRZ WRZ Western Roscoelite Zone (mining) , and another Peugeot, registration number KX52 DNJ DNJ Daily News Journal (Murfreesboro, TN) DNJ Drone Noise Jammers , are also missing. The fourth one was recovered by police after being linked to another cash-in-transit robbery in Burton-on-Trent. A reward of up to pounds 10,000 was offered by the security firm concerned for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
