Armed man bursts into petrol station; RAID: Police appeal for witnesses after robber flees with takings from garage till.Byline: By Emma Stone CRIME REPORTER A ROBBER armed with a gun terrorised a worker at a Coventry petrol station before fleeing with cash from the till. Cash from the till was put into the bag and the robber ran out of the store towards Wyken Avenue. The robbery took place between 6.30pm and 6.45pm on Monday. Detective Sergeant Claire Arden, of Stoney Stanton Stoney Stanton is a village in the Blaby district of Leicestershire, England, with a population of about 3,500. It constitutes a civil parish. The village is on a rocky outcrop and was the site of a quarry, which was closed in 1958. Road police station, is urging witnesses to come forward. She said: "From looking at the CCTV CCTV abbr. closed-circuit television CCTV closed-circuit television footage from the petrol station, there was one vehicle at the pumps on the forecourt immediately afterwards, as he walked out of the door. This person may have seen the offender. "He would have also been in the area before and after the robbery." The robber is described as of Asian appearance, 5ft 8in to 5ft 10in, aged 25 to 28 with light facial stubble. He was wearing a black jacket and a top underneath, which had a striped grey and black hood. It is believed he may have put his hood up when he entered the shop. It is understood that he left the area on foot.
