Long-term disability http://www.m2.com Arkeia Software, a provider of backup and disaster recovery software, and FalconStor Software Inc (Nasdaq:FALC), a provider of data protection solutions, announced on Monday (27 April) a broad sales, marketing and technology partnership. According to the company, the foundation of the partnership is the completion of testing and validation between FalconStor Virtual Tape Library A hard disk array that emulates a tape library. A virtual tape library (VTL) enables the storage medium to be switched from tapes to disks while continuing to use the existing tape backup software. (VTL) Virtual Appliance and Arkeia Network Backup v8 backup software, ensuring seamless operation between the deduplication and backup solutions as virtual appliances. The companies have demonstrated that the two products run together on a single virtualised server platform, but other configurations are also possible where Arkeia Network Backup is deployed as application software, as a physical appliance or in a distinct virtual machine. Arkeia Network Backup, certified with FalconStor deduplication on the block level, can also be used in conjunction with the FalconStor File-interface Deduplication System (FDS), a block-level deduplication solution that presents a network share interface as a backup repository. Customers can choose a file interface or a VTL interface or both for data deduplication, depending on data centre requirements.
