Tom Theriot began working with all-terrain vehicles as a hobby several years ago. Now he and Dan Keely co-own Arkansas Powersports LLC off Interstate 30 in Little Rock.

Although their merchandise is used, it has been selling very well since the store opened in November. So far, the Honda 400 EX ATV is the most popular buy at $4,100; about 25 have been sold so far, Theriot said.

His secret is "no haggle pricing." Prices at his showroom are so low, "there's really not any need for haggling," Theriot said.

Arkansas Powersports carries all the major brands in ATVs, dirt bikes and personal water craft, including Suzuki, Honda, Kawasaki and many others. In addition, about 20 vehicles are on display. But if customers can't find their ideal vehicle in the showroom, Theriot will search until he does.

Many of the vehicles are repossessions or recent trade-ins. Most of his inventory is one to two years old.

"If you're looking for something at another dealership, and don't mind it being a little used, I can save you thousands of dollars," he said.

Each customer will receive individual service. In order to find the best fit for the customer, Theriot asks customers when and how often they expect to ride as well as their level of experience.

In the spring, Arkansas Powersports will offer riding courses and safety instructions, Theriot said. The store also carries a full line of accessories such as exhaust systems and vehicle sticker kits.

Arkansas Powersports sits at Exit 126, across from the I-30 Speedway.

Has your business opened or incorporated in the past year? Is it getting the notice you think it deserves?
