Arkansas Past President loses battle with cancer.

Cheryl Hodges, Past President of the Arkansas Apartment Association (AAA) and AAA member for the past eight years, died May 11 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Hodges was a property manager for Lanai Apartments in Little Rock, Ark., and worked in the industry for 20 years. Invariably, she was a fixture at NAA and AAA events, attending most education conferences and trade shows.

She was that jovial southern-spoken, petite, redheaded firecracker from Arkansas that approached you in hopes to kindle new friendships, according to Cathy Tuggle, CAM, NALP, Vice President, AAA.

Dedicated and unwavering are only two attributes to depict Hodges, Tuggle said. "She was the backbone of our association and influential in the successful development of its membership," Tuggle said. "Cheryl was an instrumental leader in our organization and we will miss her support and guidance, as well as her camaraderie."
