Ark Restaurants Reports Record Sales and Earnings for Third Fiscal Quarter.


NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 16, 1997--Ark Restaurants Corp. reported net sales Net Sales

The amount a seller receives from the buyer after costs associated with the sale are deducted.

Notes:
This amount is calculated by subtracting the following items from gross sales: merchandise returned for credit, allowances for damaged or missing goods, freight
 of $31,470,000 for the third fiscal quarter ended June 28, 1997 compared with $22,601,000 for the fiscal quarter ended June 29, 1996. Net income for the latest quarter was $1,948,000, or $.51 per share, compared with $1,138,000, or $.35 per share, in the prior year's quarter.

For the nine months net sales were $74,524,000 compared with $56,774,000 last year. Net income for the latest nine months was $287,000, or $.08 per share, compared with $134,000, or $.04 per share, last year.

Same-store sales Same-store sales is a business term which refers to the revenue generated by one of a retail chain's specific outlets during a certain period of time (often a fiscal quarter or a particular shopping season), compared to an identical period in the past, usually in the previous year.  in the quarter decreased by 2.4% and for the nine months same-store sales were basically unchanged.
