The Credit Union won the award for their successful HelpingAZ.com website, the first-ever social media site designed to help Arizonans who have been impacted by the economy. The idea behind this innovative online tool is simple: it's a virtual "one-stop shop One-Stop Shop

. The site centers on the idea of "people helping people" and is powered by its participants. It provides the latest news, job listings and local economic information while allowing for open dialogue through message boards. Since launching in April, HelpingAZ.com has provided information to more than 3,000 visitors with over 450 posts. While the site was originally designed for use by the Credit Union's membership, as economic conditions quickly worsened, it was broadened to include all Arizonans.
