"We spent six months evaluating curricular software products from six different companies and the Wasatch programs were superior in quality and flexibility," said Sharon Smith, AJUSD curriculum director.

"Also, first and foremost, the software we chose was the most engaging, colorful, and interactive of the software we previewed. Kids liked it; therefore, they would stay with the activities long enough to learn the skills."

The software program, from Wasatch Interactive Learning of Salt Lake City, was also preferred by teachers and administrators for its emphasis on real-life applications and its project-based approach.

"We are a growing district and feel that well structured technology will be beneficial to our children. We plan on expanding our use of computers with students. Wasatch's ability to respond to our needs was unique," said Dr. Gary Nine, director of AJUSD education services.
