Arizona's Rio Vista Park to Be Home for First Chili Davis' Premier Baseball Facility.


PEORIA, Ariz. -- Three-Time World Series Champion Leads a Team Creating First of Two New Havens for Baseball Training and Instruction Expected to Open This Fall and Next Spring

Following a 19-year career as a player and six years into his retirement, Chili Davis
    Charles Theodore "Chili" Davis (born January 17, 1960 in Kingston, Jamaica) is a former outfielder/designated hitter who played in Major League Baseball with the San Francisco Giants (1981-87), California Angels (1988-90, 1993-96), Minnesota Twins (1991-92), Kansas City
     is back in baseball today.

    This time, he leads a team of entrepreneurs in creating the first of two new concept facilities for baseball practice and instruction that will be built in Peoria, Ariz., and operational this fall.

    The first Chili Davis' Premier Baseball indoor and outdoor facility sits within a major regional park on a half acre with a 2,000-square-foot facility that houses a full-service Starbucks coffee shop, and includes a variety of services and amenities for baseball and softball players from amateur to professional level:

    --Five baseball and softball batting cages

    --Two pitching tunnels

    --Baseball and softball instruction

    --Baseball and softball clinics and camps

    --Retail and team shop

    --Arcade and vending

    A second Chili Davis' Premier Baseball facility -- this one to be a 35,000-square-foot complex on four acres -- is also planned to open in the Peoria Sports Complex Peoria Sports Complex is a baseball field located in Peoria, Arizona. The stadium was built in 1994 and holds 12,882 people. It is one of three facilities to host Arizona Fall League games.  in spring 2007. The Peoria Sports Complex is the Spring Training home to the San Diego San Diego (săn dēā`gō), city (1990 pop. 1,110,549), seat of San Diego co., S Calif., on San Diego Bay; inc. 1850. San Diego includes the unincorporated communities of La Jolla and Spring Valley. Coronado is across the bay.  Padres and Seattle Mariners.

    When open, the first Chili Davis' Premier Baseball facility at Rio Vista Park will provide more than 20 local jobs.
