QuickTake.com's Online Survey Finds Support for Internet Voting

Among Cyber Democrats, Republicans and Independents

 agree with the Dept. of Justice's decision to allow online voting in the Arizona Democratic Presidential primary election [March 11]. The Internet-based survey was taken this weekend and asked over 350 Arizona Internet users(1) of voting age for their "Digital Opinions"(TM) about online voting for government elections.

The key findings of the QuickTake survey are:

Broken down by group - 78 percent of Democrats agree, approximately 60 percent of Republicans, and 67 percent of Independents.

-- Approximately 67 percent agree that online voting will not create an unfair advantage for one party over another. Broken down by group - approximately 60 percent of Republicans agree, 77 percent of Democrats, and 74 percent of Independents.

-- Nearly 75 percent of the respondents do not feel that online voting lessens the importance associated with voting. And over 80 percent of those surveyed feel it will increase the number of people casting votes CASTING VOTE, legislation.
