Arizona: Maricopa County deemed "pioneer".


Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department took home the Arizona Arizona (âr'əzō`nə), state in the southwestern United States. It is bordered by Utah (N), New Mexico (E), Mexico (S), and, across the Colorado R., Nevada and California (W).  Quality Alliance's 2005 Pioneer Award for Quality last month. This award recognizes organizations that demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and have established and deployed fundamental quality systems within their operations.
