Aristocrat Announces Multi-Million Dollar South American Contract.

LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 19, 2001

Aristocrat Technologies Inc. with its distributor, Caravell Gaming S.A.C., Monday announced the receipt of a multi-million dollar contract from Corporacion Meier S.A.C. of Lima, Peru.

The contract covers the installation of 3,000 Aristocrat games at Corporacion Meier's group of gaming venues located throughout Peru. The transaction will be executed by Caravell, which was appointed Aristocrat's distributor close to two years ago and handles the Peru, Columbia and Panama gaming markets for the company.

"This represents one of the largest ever orders for the company in South America South America, fourth largest continent (1991 est. pop. 299,150,000), c.6,880,000 sq mi (17,819,000 sq km), the southern of the two continents of the Western Hemisphere. ," stated Mark Newburg, president of Aristocrat Technologies Inc. "It is a significant milestone for the company and reflects the efforts to increase our market share in South America."

Newburg explained that Aristocrat has begun modifying product to satisfy the needs of the South American market including integrating Spanish language Spanish language, member of the Romance group of the Italic subfamily of the Indo-European family of languages (see Romance languages). One of the most progressive gaming operators in Peru, Corporacion Meier is in partnership on two casinos and operates a dozen other gaming route venues. It also expects to open a third casino shortly. The first 1,000 Aristocrat games will be installed by the end of the year with the remaining scheduled over the next six months.
