Arista Recording Group Pushmonkey to Appear on Melrose Place.

Arista recording group Pushmonkey is set to make its television debut on the ultra-hip Fox series, "Melrose Place", on an episode scheduled to air the first week of December.

Those familiar with "Melrose Place" know that the series has been pushing the contemporary music envelope lately, with guest appearances by up-and-coming artists performing at the fictional Kyle's Place. That's the local hot spot where Amanda and the gang can be found fighting, laughing, crying -- you name it.

Pushmonkey will perform "Handslide", the soon-to-be hit single from the group's self-titled Arista debut. The record is already receiving massive radio airplay. In a rave review of the CD, the Austin American Statesman said that, "Pushmonkey flexes its brawn while showing plenty of intelligent life."

This is one of many media moments for this high energy rock band. Howard Stern, king of all media, recently played five cuts off the album trying to decide if Pushmonkey is "the next big thing". Unable to reach a conclusion one way or the other, Howard decided they were "not bad". To which our Arista radio rep responded, "We'll take a 'not bad' from you any day, Howard!"

Pushmonkey was discovered by legendary manager Bill Ham (of ZZ Top renown) and his management company, Lone Wolf. Under their guidance, Pushmonkey has already toured with Kiss in Texas, sold 10,000 CDs and gone on to headline major venues throughout the southwest. In 1997 and 1998, Pushmonkey was named No. 1 Hard Rock Band at the Austin Music Awards, held during the annual SXSW (South By Southwest) Music Festival.

Pushmonkey is currently in the midst of headlining their "New Erector Tour '98", which has taken the band cross-country from New York to Los Angeles.
