Aries Research releases the Marixx SS and SI product line; with 125 MHz hyperSPARC processors from ROSS Technology; systems available in single, dual or quad configurations.


FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 11, 1995--Aries Research announces the Marixx(TM) SS & SI product line configured with multiple 125 MHz (MegaHertZ) One million cycles per second. It is used to measure the transmission speed of electronic devices, including channels, buses and the computer's internal clock. A one-megahertz clock (1 MHz) means some number of bits (16, 32, 64, etc.  hyperSPARC(TM) processors from ROSS Technology Inc., providing 13059 SPECrate fp92 and 11429 SPECrate int92 performance in a quad processor configuration.

The Marixx SS and SI, are 100% SUN(R) compatible SPARC (Scalable Performance ARChitecture) A family of RISC CPUs from Sun that runs mostly under Sun's Solaris, but also under Linux and BSD operating systems.
