, one UPA slave socket for Creator graphics applications and two UPA master sockets for UPA processor modules, 16 memory SIMM sockets support up to 2 GB memory with 128 MB SIMM modules. The Marixx US IIL IIL - Integrated Injection Logic  is the Ultra 2 "Lite" system from Aries Research. Marixx US IIL offers all the features of an SMCC SMCC - Sun Microsystems Computer Corporation.  Ultra 2 system except it offers single UPA module for uniprocessing applications and the traditional 8 SIMM sockets to support up to 1 GB memory requirement. Aries Research offers desktop and deskside models for both Marixx US II and Marixx US IIL. Comprehensive Upgrade program to higher performance processors and from uniprocessing to multiprocessing are available for all US systems.

"We are excited to offer the standard and customized system platforms based on the SPARC (Scalable Performance ARChitecture) A family of RISC CPUs from Sun that runs mostly under Sun's Solaris, but also under Linux and BSD operating systems. After development began in the mid-1980s by David Patterson of the University of California at Berkeley and Bill  V9 architecture from Sun Microsystems Sun Microsystems, Inc.  microprocessor and the first processor to deliver the multimedia and data movement requirements of today's and tomorrow's networked systems. UltraSPARC is the industry's first processor with on-chip multimedia support for desktop video conferencing, real-time MPEG-2 decompression, video effects, and texture mapped triangle rendering. Its highly scalar and high data throughput design enables UltraSPARC to move data at a peak rate of 1.3 GB/second. While employing the visual instruction set (VIS) , it can operate at a rate of 1.67 Gops/second.
