Ariba Teams With Amalto Technologies to Expand Supplier Solutions.

Ariba to Offer Amalto's Data Integration Technology to Suppliers of All Sizes to Help Automate Order and Invoice Management

SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Ariba, Inc. (Nasdaq:ARBA), the leading spend management solutions provider, today announced that it is working with Amalto Technologies, a global provider of data integration solutions, to help suppliers quickly and cost effectively automate their order and invoice management processes. As a result of integration work included in the terms of a joint marketing agreement, members of the Ariba([R]) Supplier Network([TM]) will gain the ability to connect to Amalto b2box([R]), a packaged solution sold separately by Amalto, that can be used to electronically convert and integrate purchase orders and other transactional documents received from the network with a variety of back-end order and invoice management systems.

"Receiving and managing purchase orders and invoices is a time-consuming and costly task, particularly for mid-size organizations that lack the resources and budget for solutions to automate the process," said Don Darby, Director of Supplier Solutions, Ariba. "By enabling integration with Amalto, Ariba can help supplier organizations overcome this challenge, providing a fast and easy way to streamline and integrate their order and invoice management processes and systems and reap the savings and efficiencies that end-to-end coordination provides."

An easily deployed solution that requires no investments in technology infrastructure or resources, Amalto b2box is pre-configured with the most common formats and protocols for electronic data exchange and can be used with a variety of back-end systems, including ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) An integrated information system that serves all departments within an enterprise. Evolving out of the manufacturing industry, ERP implies the use of packaged software rather than proprietary software written by or for one customer.  solutions and accounting software. Leveraging Amalto b2box, suppliers can automatically convert purchase orders from the Ariba Supplier Network into the format used by their order management systems and convert invoices produced by these systems into CXML (Commerce XML) A set of XML tags that defines the characteristics of a sale over the Web. It defines tags for purchase orders, changes, payments, order status and shipping information and is designed to provide a common interchange language for sales transactions.  for processing on the network.

"Ariba has set the standard for electronic commerce with the Ariba Supplier Network," said Jean-Pierre Foehn foehn (fān, Ger. fön), warm, dry wind that occurs on the leeward slopes of a ridge of mountains.
