Arian Resources Corp. announces new Bonanda Gold -- silver discoveries.VANCOUVER, B.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 18, 1996--Arlan Resources Corp. (ARCO ar·co adv. & adj. Music With a bow. A summer fieldwork field·work n. 1. A temporary military fortification erected in the field. 2. Work done or firsthand observations made in the field as opposed to that done or observed in a controlled environment. 3. programme of mapping, stripping and trenching has resulted in several new discoveries. A new gold discovery has been made one kilometre northwest of the Juliette Deposit - the "Northwest Zone." Geological mapping and prospecting identified float samples grading Up to 28.6g/t gold and 2,070.0g/t silver, Stripping has exposed epithermal veining vein·ing n. Distribution or arrangement of veins or veinlike markings. which may be a possible source of this mineralisation; a metre wide vein returned grades of 9.0g/t gold and 700.0g/t silver. Trenching to further expose this structure is continuing. A drilling programme will be undertaken after evaluation of all the surface results. Prospecting in the Juliette Central Zone 250m south of the Juliette Deposit has returned vein material in grab samples Noun 1. grab sample - a single sample or measurement taken at a specific time or over as short a period as feasible sample - a small part of something intended as representative of the whole from stripping work grading 110.2g/t gold and 737.0g/t silver, 19.6g/t gold and 38.0g/t silver, 37.8g/t gold and 108.09/t silver. Trenching to follow-up this discovery is in progress. Arlan has identified four target zones on the "Engteri Prospect" which is 6km north of the Juliette Deposit. All zones have pervasive alteration, combined with geochemical and geophysical ge·o·phys·ics n. (used with a sing. verb) The physics of the earth and its environment, including the physics of fields such as meteorology, oceanography, and seismology. anomalies. On Engteri Zone IV, float samples over a three hectare hectare (hĕk`târ, –tär), abbr. ha, unit of area in the metric system, equal to 10,000 sq m, or about 2.47 acres. area have returned very impressive bonanza assay results, including 108,0g/t gold and 3,563.OgA silver, 86.4g/t gold and 725.0g/t silver, 62.6g/t gold and 10,762.0g/t silver. These results from preliminary exploration outside the existing orebody on the Juliette Licence gives further confidence to the company that the 110km(2) Licence contains significantly more gold and silver resources than the 866,000 ounce of gold equivalent outlined in the recently completed Feasibility Study The analysis of a problem to determine if it can be solved effectively. The operational (will it work?), economical (costs and benefits) and technical (can it be built?) aspects are part of the study. Results of the study determine whether the solution should be implemented. . The initial mineable reserve is hosted in only three veins of the 14 vein epithermal vein system identified in the original Juliette discovery which clearly has the potential to be substantially increased by infill in·fill n. 1. The use of vacant land and property within a built-up area for further construction or development, especially as part of a neighborhood preservation or limited growth program. 2. drilling. Trenching and sampling programmes on the Juliette Licence are almost complete. An initial 4,000m diamond drill programme to follow-up these discoveries is scheduled to commence shortly when all surface assays have been evaluated and specific targets selected. New Licences ------------ Arlan is also pleased to announce that OMGC OMGC Our Mother of Good Counsel (Los Angeles, CA) , in which it holds a 50.5% interest, has secured three additional comprehensive exploration and mining Licences (totalling 227km(2)) in the Juliette Mineral District. The Licences: Atagan (6km(2)), Maksinskaya (76km(2)) and lvaninskaya (145km(2)) were selected using the Company's experience at Juliette and based on their structural setting, similar rock types, extensive zones of alteration and strong gold geochemical anomalies in soils and rock. Arian geologists are currently compiling a database of historical information on the Licences with a view to preparing exploration programmes for the 1997 field season. Prospecting at Juliette and the acquisition of the new Licences provides Arlan with at least 12 high quality targets in the Juliette Mineral District where the recently completed Feasibility Study has projected a low-cost operation (US$123/oz gold equivalent) with approximately nine years initial mine life at 105,000 ounce gold equivalent per year. Exploration of these targets will proceed in parallel with the Company's fast-track development of the Juliette Deposit with production planned to commence in 1998. On the Netchen-Khaya property located 30km from the Magadan highway about 2OOkm from Juliette which is testing the depth extension of a strong mineralising system identified by trenching. Borehole bore·hole n. A hole that is drilled into the earth, as in exploratory well drilling or in building construction. No. 2 intersected high grade vein material at 90m down hole which returned 2.2m grading 31.0 g/t gold and 4.9 g/t silver. This hole made a further intersection of 1.Om at 29.0g/t gold and 6.0g/t silver at 97m. These positive results will be followed-up by further diamond drilling Diamond Drilling is a highly specialized industry used for mineral exploration around the world. Most commonly using wireline and core bits with diamond encrusted matrix. To drill holes to max depths of twelve thousand feet, for the recovery of core used in verifying mineral .
