Knaapila has been MD of Song Networks' Finnish subsidiary since it was set up in 1999, as well as Vice President for Products and Services for the Group since the beginning of 2001.

Knaapila started his career in IT related business, and has worked for IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company.
