Argentine Vice President Daniel Scioli to Give Keynote Address at WCIT 2006; World Congress on Information Technology 2006 Continues Adding Top International Government Officials to Marquee Speaking Roster.

 2006) announced today that Daniel Scioli, Vice President of Argentina The President of Argentina (full title: President of the Argentine Nation, Spanish: Presidente de la Nación Argentina) is the head of state of Argentina. Under the national Constitution, the President is also the chief executive of the federal government and , will participate in the Congress as a keynote speaker during the Innovation Exchange Program. Vice President Scioli's knowledge and support of multicultural communications and technological development will further WCIT 2006's mission to enable social and economic development around the world through the exchange of policies, ideas and technology.

As the world's premiere information technology forum, WCIT 2006 is expected to draw 2,000 business, government and academic leaders from 80 countries. The World Congress will be held in Austin, TX on May 1-5, 2006 and will focus on three main Global Impact Program topics: Privacy & Security, Digital Access: A Global Progress Report, and Healthcare IT in the 21st Century. The goal of WCIT 2006 is to explore these issues and to make specific, actionable policy recommendations to both the global IT community and government officials throughout the world.

Vice President Scioli recognizes the importance of technology innovation to Argentina. He continues to use his office as a platform to promote Argentina's technological development, infrastructure improvements, and quality of IT industry internationally. Prior to his election in May 2003, Vice President Scioli served as Secretary of Tourism and Sports from 2001-2003, was chosen to preside over the Sports Committee of the Honorable Chamber of Deputies from 1997-2001, and was elected a National Deputy representing the city of Buenos Aires Buenos Aires (bwā`nəs ī`rēz, âr`ēz, Span. bwā`nōs ī`rās), city and federal district (1991 pop.  for the "Partido Justicialista."
