("Argentina Gold") have been advised that Barrick Gold Barrick Gold Corporation TSX: ABX NYSE: ABX is the largest pure gold mining company in the world, with its headquarters in Toronto, Ontario, Canada; and four regional business units (RBU's) located in Australia, Africa, North America and South America. Corporation ("Barrick") has extended its Cdn.$4.00 per share take-over bid for all of the shares of Argentina Gold until 12:01 a.m. January 19, 1999, after Barrick failed to acquire 50.1 percent of the outstanding shares, one of the conditions of its bid.
