9 You're at sleepaway camp, and you can pick any activities you want. You'd spend most of your time: a.  new things simply because you've never tried them before. Heck, once upon a time, you had never listened to India Arie either, but now you're her biggest fan. Besides, how are you ever going to become a champion surfing diva if you cant' handle a few falls? Keep seeking out new experiences--it's the absolute best way to learn about new cultures, interesting people, different foods and even yourself. Basically, trying new stuff makes you a more rounded, more interesting and more confident you. As long as you play it safe and smart, you're on the right track. Keep it up!

When opportunities present themselves, remember to let your guard down every once in a while--you'll be glad you did.

MOSTLY C's

OK! Just because something is new to you, doesn't mean it's scary, lame or bad. And just because you normally do things one way doesn't mean another way is wrong--just different. True, it's hard to stomach the idea of being a beginner at tennis when you can already score a soccer goal with your eyes closed. But if you don't try new stuff, you're going to miss out--big time. If nothing else, trying new things gives you a better idea of your own preferences. Then when someone offers you caviar caviar or caviare (kăv`ēär), the roe (eggs) of various species of sturgeon prepared as a piquant table delicacy. , you can honesly say, "No, thanks. I've tried it before, but it's not my thing." So branch out every now and then--you might be glad you did!
