Are You Normal?; New Book Reveals What's Par for the Course When It Comes To Guys.

NEW YORK New York, state, United States
New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of
-- In her new book, "When It Comes to Guys, What's Normal?," marketing guru Bernice Kanner focuses her uniquely perceptive gaze on the idiosyncrasies, opinions and behaviors of guys.

This latest installment in Kanner's popular "Are You Normal?" series offers insightful - and at times surprising - statistics about men, gathered through a study funded in part by The Gillette Company. Kanner's previous books explored Americans' perceptions of love and money, and showed how remarkably alike, incredibly different and just plain interesting they are.

"I wanted to focus on men and their behaviors for this book, because I feel that most people don't understand them," said Bernice Kanner. "Men will always remain something of a mystery, so it was fun to explore how they act in the bedroom, the bathroom, the car and at the office."

The book, organized by topics such as "Before the Mirror and In the John," "Between the Sheets," "Behind the Wheel," and "On the Job," answers burning questions, such as:

--What would a guy do for $1 million? (60 percent would take the rap for someone else and spend six months in jail)

--How many sport facial hair Noun 1. facial hair - hair on the face (especially on the face of a man)
hair - a covering for the body (or parts of it) consisting of a dense growth of threadlike structures (as on the human head); helps to prevent heat loss; "he combed his hair"; "each hair
and how do they deal with it? (46 percent have no facial hair, while 12 percent show stubble; 90 percent of all American men shave away their facial hair with 72 percent using a razor and blade)

--Do they know the difference between right and wrong? (14 percent of men would park in a handicapped spot, and 86 percent admit to fudging information on their resumes)

--Do they get bitten by the love bug A famous virus that arrived as an e-mail attachment using the "double extension trick." The file name was "I LOVE YOU.TXT.vbs." The .vbs extension slipped by users who thought it was a safe text (.TXT) file. ? (Men fall in love an average of six times in a lifetime, however, 44 percent of men have uttered those three little words, even when they knew it wasn't true)

"The Gillette Company has been committed to understanding men for more than 100 years," said Peter K. Hoffman, President, Blades & Razors, The Gillette Company. "We're thrilled that the statistics and information about men that we've gathered over the years was as fascinating to Ms. Kanner as it is to us."

"When It Comes to Guys, What's Normal?" by Bernice Kanner is being released in June 2005, in conjunction with Father's Day, at a suggested retail price of $9.95.
