DataStage Release 3.6, Ardent's industry-leading data integration product suite for data warehouse creation and management, provides immediate enhanced SAP support with its Packaged Application Connection Kit (PACK) for SAP R/3. The company will soon augment that support with a PACK for SAP BW. Ardent will be demonstrating both tools at SAP's Sapphire show on September 13 in Philadelphia.

Ardent's DataStage Extract PACK for SAP R/3 enables users to extract data directly from SAP R/3 systems natively and integrate it with data from other sources, leveraging the powerful visual design process of DataStage for modeling and deploying source-to-target transformations and loads. This process is supported by an extensive set of built-in libraries for complex transformations. Ardent's DataStage Load PACK for SAP BW adheres to the SAP standard interface protocol, BAPI (Business API) An interface to one of SAP's earlier R/3 applications. "It is important that companies implementing SAP and other ERP solutions leverage the data generated by those systems in their business intelligence and analytical applications. When managed effectively, this information can be an invaluable strategic asset," said Mikael Wipperfeld, vice president of data warehouse marketing at Ardent Software. "Ardent's DataStage PACKs for SAP R/3 and SAP BW meet our customers' demand for tools that help maximize the efficiency of their SAP data warehousing solutions."
