Ardence Releases Version 7.0 of Market-Leading RTX Software; Control Solution for Windows(R) Improves Functionality and Performance.

WALTHAM, Mass. -- Ardence, the global leader in developing software platforms for the on-demand world, today released version released version - release  7.0 of RTX RTX Russian Traded Index

, its market-leading real-time solution. Ardence RTX is the only software solution architected as a high-performance extension to control Microsoft Windows See Windows.

RTX provides functionality that gives developers deterministic control of Windows-based systems that require a high level of performance and scalability. This real-time control Real-time control is a popular term for a certain class of digital controllers. For effective digital control, it is critical that sample time be constant. Real-time control achieves nearly constant sample time. See also

solution allows developers to reduce system costs, improve reliability, speed the time to market and increase the performance of their applications.

Ardence RTX 7.0, with continued support of multi-core architectures, introduces a powerful new feature for RTX developers - support for Host/Target debugging (programming) debugging - The process of attempting to determine the cause of the symptoms of malfunctions in a program or other system. These symptoms may be detected during testing or use by real users.  using Visual Studio 2005 and .Net 2003. Host/Target debugging allows the debugging of an RTSS RTSS Real-Time Systems Symposium

Host/Target debugging includes a debug To correct a problem in hardware or software. Debugging software means locating the errors in the source code (the program logic). Debugging hardware means finding errors in the circuit design (logical circuits) or in the physical interconnections of the circuits.  agent that resides on the target and provides Ethernet-based communications back to the host machine running the debugger.

"RTX 7.0 is the result of Ardence's continued commitment to its customers' complex systems and changing design needs," said Stephen Woodard, Ardence Senior Vice President of Global Operations Global Operations is a first-person shooter computer game developed by Barking Dog Studios and published by both Crave Entertainment and Electronic Arts. It was released in March of 2002, following its public multiplayer beta version which contained only the Quebec map. . "No other Windows-based product provides what RTX does, and we will continue to add cutting-edge functionality and capabilities that deliver value to customers and strategic partners worldwide."

Additional features introduced in RTX version 7.0 include:
-- Windows Server 2003 Support

RTX 7.0 now fully supports Windows(R) Server 2003 in both
shared mode and dedicated mode. In shared mode, RTX Subsystem
shares one processor with Windows, and in dedicated mode RTX
Subsystem has a dedicated processor unavailable to Windows.
Both shared and dedicated modes were tested with Windows
Server 2003 on high-end server platforms. Testing platforms
included a 4 dual core CPU system with hyper-threading
disabled and eight GB of RAM. RTX Server 2003 support includes
both Standard and Enterprise versions, with Service Pack 1
(SP1) and Release 2 (R2) for those versions.

    -- Visual Studio 2005 Support

Use of consistent and well-known development tools has been a
hallmark of RTX since its inception. The RTX software
development kit (SDK) was conceived and designed from the
beginning as a plug-in to the Microsoft Visual Studio
development tool set. RTX 7.0 provides support for the latest
Microsoft IDE, Visual Studio 2005. Visual Studio 2005 support
includes wizards to configure project settings and provides
templates for common RTSS functionality. RTSS and RT-TCP/IP
debugging support (local or Host/Target), and Intellisense to
support F1 Help within the IDE.

    -- PerformanceView

PerformanceView provides the developer with a true view of
overall system CPU utilization. PerformanceView provides two
graphs: one detailing RTX, Windows and system idle time CPU
utilization, and a second showing the maximum time spent in
RTX in the last sample period to flag instances which exceed a
specified threshold highlighted for easy identification.

    -- RTX Debugger Data Extension

RTX Debugger Data Extension provides increased visibility into
RTX internal data structures through a set of extension
commands. These are accessible through Microsoft's WinDbg and
the Visual Studio IDE (.NET 2003 and 2005). Extension commands
can obtain the state of RTX processes, threads, memory
information, process handles, objects and RTX subsystems, as
        well the RTX version.

RTX is deployed widely in industrial automation, military and aerospace, simulation, robotics, test and measurement and medical devices. As a COTS-based software solution, RTX can enable the elimination of costly and aging proprietary hardware-based systems. Evaluation versions of RTX can be downloaded at no cost.
