Architect Frank Gehry Unveils New Marques de Riscal "City of Wine".

Star-Studded Ceremony Celebrates the Completion and Opening of the "City of Wine" Winery, Hotel and Spa in El Ciego, Spain, and Unveils the New "Frank Gehry Selection Reserva 2001" Wine

LOS ANGELES -- World-renowned architect Frank O. Gehry unveiled his latest creation, the new Marques de Riscal "City of Wine," winery, hotel and spa in El Ciego, Spain, during a star-studded event last night at the W Hotel in Westwood. The new "wine destination" is part of a $100 million renovation of the 139-year-old Marques de Riscal estate and is one of the most ambitious projects ever carried out by a Spanish winery.

Gehry was also honored with the presentation of the very limited and exclusive "Frank Gehry Selection Reserva 2001" wine by Jose Luis Muguiro of Marques de Riscal. Celebrities joining the celebration and enjoying special tapas created by Chef Francis Paniego, one of Spain's top Michelin Chefs flown in for the event, included Laurence Fishburne, Anjelica Huston, Bill Maher, Carol Burnett, Eric McCormack, Jody Watley and other Hollywood and Los Angeles leaders.

The spectacular 24-acre Marques de Riscal "City of Wine" is located in the Rioja region of Spain. Visitors will enjoy a one-of-a-kind destination that includes the Marques de Riscal Hotel, part of the Starwood Luxury Collection, a Caudelie Vinotherapie spa, exclusive restaurant, meeting and conference centers, the original winery and wine cellars including the historic "wine cathedral" - a collection of wines bottled from 1860 on, and a visitors center with tasting room and wine bar.
