Architect's Smart move wins award.


Dean Marchetto Architects, PC, received a Smart Growth Architecture award from The American Institute of Architects The American Institute of Architects (AIA) is a professional organization for architects in the United States. Organized in 1857, the Institute conducts various activities and programs to support the profession and enhance its public image, including periodically awarding the AIA , New Jersey Chapter, for the Mulberry Street The following streets are named Mulberry Street:

This top award for urban design, offered in conjunction with New Jersey Department of Community Affairs The New Jersey Department of Community Affairs is a governmental agency of the U.S. state of New Jersey.

The project features 2,000 new housing units, 180,000 square feet of commercial space, 2,500 off-street parking spaces in below grade garages topped by parks and over 125,000 feet of open space, including plazas, parks and courtyards.

"The Mulberry Street Promenade offers a convenient and safe urban neighborhood in which to work and live," said Project Architect Dean Marchetto.

The main focus of the design is an urban corridor designed as a boulevard, with a parallel linear park, and a large urban plaza with retail and services on the ground floor of the buildings.
