A practicing architect for more than 50 years, Dworsky was Director of Design and Managing Principal of Dworsky Associates, the Los Angeles firm he founded in 1953, which later merged with Cannon Design in 2000. After playing professional football, as a first round draft pick for the Los Angeles Dons The Los Angeles Dons were an American football team in the now defunct All-America Football Conference from 1946 - 1949 that played in the Los Angeles Coliseum. For most of their existence, the Dons compiled an average record, and never qualified for the AAFC playoffs. in 1949, Dworsky focused his concentration on architecture. The successful completion of Dworsky's first major public commission, the Crisler Arena at the University of Michigan, demonstrated his ability to combine majesty of scale with human accessibility. The numerous award-winning projects completed during his first fourteen years of practice led to his election to the AIA College of Fellows at the early age of 41. Other challenging opportunities followed, including two very different projects for California State institutions. The 35-acre planned community complex for the California State School for the Blind, and the Theatre Arts Building at California State University Enrollment Distinguished Los Angeles projects include the Bradley International Terminal at LAX, The Federal Reserve Bank, UCLA's Drake Stadium, The Downtown Angeles Plaza Housing, and the Van Nuys Municipal Courts Building. Dworsky's commitment to design excellence has earned him over 100 national, regional, and community awards. He has been voted one of the top twelve most distinguished architects in Los Angeles.
