Archi-Tech Systems Celebrates 10 Years of Providing Business Solutions and Products to the Pharmaceutical Industry.

Archi-Tech Systems, Inc. (Archi-Tech), a provider of data integration services and decision support tools for the pharmaceutical industry, celebrates its tenth anniversary in 2003.

President Paul Gray founded Archi-Tech and introduced its flagship product DART in 1993.

Since its inception, Archi-Tech has focused on providing pharmaceutical companies with access to voluminous data at record-breaking speeds. This goal was accomplished by the development of the unique technology powering the DART (Data Access and Reporting Tool) product.

The intent was to create an environment that included both a database component to store sales and marketing data, which included, prescriptions, calls, details, samples and physician demographic data and deliver it with a front end access interface for querying capabilities. The result: DART, which provided answers to business questions in record speed.

Archi-Tech's early accomplishments included the development of proprietary virtual indexing and compression technologies that allow not only the storage of large data volumes in a small footprint, but rapid access as well. Another milestone was the creation of an environment that could be accessed in a single portable repository.

Archi-Tech's first pharmaceutical client, Bristol-Myers Squibb, was up and running in 1993 with this new technology. Bristol-Myers was utilizing DART to provide data analysis access to internal users and deliver actionable information to field personnel.

With expected competition with internal data warehousing projects, Archi-Tech started positioning DART as a value-added product, which complimented data warehousing initiatives. Because of Archi-Tech's knowledge and experience of the pharmaceutical data, the company began customizing solutions for the industry.

Some of these custom solutions included products delivered as Adobe Acrobat files, which lead to the development of its Intelligraph and EDGe products. Archi-Tech was among the first vendors to bring Acrobat reporting solutions to the pharmaceutical industry.

Both these products accomplished the delivery of sales reports to either field management or field representatives, which provided information to manage sales effectiveness and incentive compensation programs.

Another revolutionary step was to create a specific decision support product targeted to field management. Dashboard was created in conjunction with specific clients' needs, providing field management with a performance productivity and sales analysis tool within specific geography. The Dashboard solution is highly intuitive and graphically presented for ease of use.

More recently, Archi-Tech has expanded its product portfolio to include products like DART MC and DART Outlet. Both are state-of-the-art products that utilize the underlying power of DART, but specifically targeted to the managed care and non-retail business models.

With a full product suite and new expanded facilities driven by product and client growth, Archi-Tech is looking forward to the next decade of business opportunities. To assist in this challenge Archi-Tech has recently hired a new level of executive management that will prepare the organization for the next years of growth. These include:

-- Luz Cesario, Vice President of Sales & Marketing. With more than 20 years of pharmaceutical experience, Cesario has been employed at companies such as Sandoz Pharmaceuticals, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Burroughs Wellcome and recently as Director of Sales Automation Systems at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals. She has also worked on the service side with Walsh America, in their Software Division group and in private consulting. Cesario brings a high level of expertise in the SFA/CRM, field analysis, targeting, alignment and training arenas. She states, "I am excited in joining the Archi-Tech team and look forward to assisting clients in their struggles of trying to access, manipulate and analyze pharmaceutical data".

-- Steve Everk, Vice President of Operations. Everk is responsible for overseeing both development and client services of the organization. Of his 20 years in the pharmaceutical industry, Everk spent 13 employed by IMS Health where he held several key management positions, ultimately presiding over IMS' sales management services (Xponent and DDD). Prior to IMS, Steve has held senior management positions at Datapro Research a McGraw-Hill company that provided information services on computer products and services.

-- John Klodnicki, Executive Director of Business Development. Prior to joining Archi-Tech, Klodnicki worked at companies such as SmithKline Beecham and ICI Pharmaceuticals, where he held positions in the Marketing Science and Information Management departments. His primary responsibilities in these companies were in SFA, incentive compensation programs, promotion response analysis, and physician targeting. Klodnicki's most recent position was Director of Business Technology Consulting with NDCHealth, where he advised major pharmaceutical companies on data warehouse strategy, specifically the integration of sales force calls, samples and detail information with prescription and managed care data.
