Arche renews on Third Ave.

The team of Faith Hope Consolo, Chairman, and Joseph A. Aquino, Executive Vice President, of Prudential Douglas Elliman's Retail Leasing and Sales Division exclusively represented both the landlord and tenant in a lease renewal for women's comfort footwear retailer Arche at 1045 Third Avenue.

The retailer, whose Paris-made shoes are favored among celebrities including Cher, Daryl Hannah, Meryl Steep and Britney Spears, just to name a few, has re-committed with a 10-year lease.

The 1,000-square-foot shop is situated between 61st and 62nd Street, in the heart of what is known as "Bloomie's Country" because of its proximity to mega department store Bloomingdale's.

"Arche has successfully established itself at this desirable Third Avenue for many years now and has built a loyal following," says Ms. Consolo, who along with Mr. Aquino brought Arche to its store at 995 Madison Avenue several years ago.

"This ever-changing retail corridor also makes sense for Arche because it sits in the midst of the richest zip code in the country with a demographic that appreciates the quality of their footwear."

The Prudential Douglas Elliman team has also brought Morrell Wine Xchange, Bare Escentuals, Alexia Crawford and Independence Community Bank to the neighborhood over the past few years, as well as assisted Searle in its expansion there.

Mr. Aquino adds, "Third Avenue is a perfect blend of luxury clothing, accessories--including shoes--and fine dining. It is close enough to Madison and Fifth to have access to the Upper East Side shopper, but not so far east that merchants become lost amid restaurants as on Second and First. Third Avenue has a mall-like quality that is rarely seen in Manhattan, which is why it is so soughtafter."

Retail neighbors include bath, body and skincare shops, such as Molton Brown, furniture and home decoration stores such as Gracious Home, Select Comfort, Maurice Villency, the Door Store and KA International, among others, along with the new 100,000-square-foot Home Depot. There are also banks aplenty.

"Third Avenue has truly evolved and is only now fulfilling its promise as a superb retail location," concludes Ms. Consolo.

In addition to its Third and Madison Ave. stores, Arche has retail locations at 128 West 57th Street, 10 Astor Place, 123 Wooster Street, as well as stores in White Plains, Boston, Santa Monica and Santa Barbara.
