Many of the papers in this title were presented at the Second International Conference on the Archaeology of the Fourth Nile Cataract held at the Berlin Humboldt University in August 2005. The area in question is undergoing archaeological salvage work in advance of a dam being built that will flood 140 kilometers of the Nile Valley. As part of a salvage archaeology effort under tense time constraints, the papers' topics vary broadly though the focus of this volume is the prehistory of the area. A previous volume was published after the Conference's 2004 meeting. Price is converted from euro. Distributed in North America by The David Brown Book Co.
