Arch Insurance Group Names Vincent D. Liotta Senior Vice President of Global Marine and Energy.

NEW YORK, New York--(BUSINESS WIRE)--October 3, 2002

Arch Insurance Group, a division of Arch Capital Group Ltd., today announced that Vincent D. Liotta has been named to the position of Senior Vice President of Global Marine and Energy, effective October 15, 2002. Arch's newly-formed Global Marine and Energy unit will focus on traditional marine lines, as well as offshore energy, aviation and space risks. Mr. Liotta will be based in Arch's New York offices and will report to Thomas G. Kaiser, President of the Property, Energy and Marine Division.

Mr. Liotta, age 47, has over 25 years of experience in the insurance and reinsurance industries. Prior to joining Arch, Mr. Liotta was a Managing Director of Marsh Inc. and Guy Carpenter & Company, Inc., where he managed a large team of brokers whose portfolio of reinsurance clients, based in North America, Asia and Europe, was among the largest in the United States. He also has significant underwriting experience through his 21 years of service with Fireman's Fund Insurance Company in various positions, including Atlanta division manager responsible for 15 underwriting offices, and his tenure as the Chairman of the American Hull Insurance Syndicate and Cargo Reinsurance Association. Mr. Liotta also previously served as a director of the American War Risks Reinsurance Exchange, Water Quality Insurance Syndicate, American Offshore Insurance Syndicate and the American Institute of Marine Underwriters.
