Arbortext Reports 8th Straight Quarter of Record Revenue.

Business Editors

ANN ARBOR, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 22, 2003

Arbortext, Inc., a leading global provider of XML-based software for content creation, editing and multichannel publishing, today reported record revenue for the period ending June 30, 2003, completing its eighth consecutive quarter of growth. The company's success is attributed to the rapidly growing demand for XML-based publishing solutions as well as its strong sales execution, significant product enhancements and expanded strategic partnerships.

"I'm pleased by our strong performance, which includes revenue growth from every major geography and every major component of our business," said Raymond Schiavone, President and Chief Executive Officer at Arbortext. "We enter the second half of 2003 poised for accelerated growth. During the second quarter we expanded our direct sales force by more than 20%, and we saw our new business pipeline grow by 37% when compared to just one year ago."

Representing a significant product advancement, the company announced Arbortext 5 during the second quarter. Designed to simplify multichannel publishing of dynamic content, Arbortext 5 puts the business user in control and reduces the need for specialized technical expertise, ultimately eliminating substantial costs and pain associated with implementing systems to create and share information.

Continuing with its strategic business initiatives, Arbortext signed a Marketing Agreement with SAP AG (NYSE NYSE
