Arbortext Appoints Albert Leong as Country Manager for Asia Pacific Region; Continues Global Expansion into Singapore, South Asia Pacific and Greater China.


ANN ARBOR Ann Arbor, city (1990 pop. 109,592), seat of Washtenaw co., S Mich., on the Huron River; inc. 1851. It is a research and educational center, with a large number of government and industrial research and development firms, many in high-technology fields such as , Mich. -- Arbortext, the leading provider of Enterprise Publishing Software, today announced the appointment of Albert Leong as the Country Manager for the Asia Pacific region. In this role, Mr. Leong will be based in Singapore and responsible for developing and executing plans that help Arbortext achieve its growth objectives in South Asia This article is about the geopolitical region in Asia. South Asia, also known as Southern Asia
 Pacific and Greater China. Two key elements of the plan center around this region's integrator channel partnerships and extending the company's support to new and existing customers.

Mr. Leong brings with him senior level industry channel experience and excellent sales and customer support management. He joins Arbortext after serving as President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  for SAP Learning Solutions. In this position he was responsible for business development and channel management for Asia Pacific region, including Japan, Australia, and Greater China. Prior to this he has 14 years of regional experience in ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) An integrated information system that serves all departments within an enterprise. Evolving out of the manufacturing industry, ERP implies the use of packaged software rather than proprietary software written by or for one customer.  and e-Business solutions implementation and channel management for SAP, IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries) , and NEC (NEC Corporation, Tokyo, www.nec.com, www.necus.com) An electronics conglomerate known in the U.S. for its monitors. In Japan, it had the lion's share of the PC market until the late 1990s (see PC 98).

Current global customers currently using Arbortext software include AstraZeneca, Fujitsu, Hitachi Information Systems, IBM, Mitsubishi, Nokia, Ricoh, and Toyoto Motor Company.
