Arbitrators Decide That Microsoft is Not Obligated to Pay REFAC Any Additional License Fee Under the Priest Patent.NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 16, 1998--In May, 1997 REFAC Technology Development Corporation's (AMEX AMEX See: American Stock Exchange : REF) patent licensing subsidiary, REFAC International, Ltd., and Microsoft Corporation (company) Microsoft Corporation - The biggest supplier of operating systems and other software for IBM PC compatibles. Software products include MS-DOS, Microsoft Windows, Windows NT, Microsoft Access, LAN Manager, MS Client, SQL Server, Open Data Base Connectivity (ODBC), MS Mail, signed a non-exclusive License Agreement under U.S. Patent No. 5,167,011 (the "Priest Patent") which describes the systems for coordinating information storage and retrieval information storage and retrieval, the systematic process of collecting and cataloging data so that they can be located and displayed on request.
